In January 2005, the Foundation provided a $250,000 loan to assist in the acquisition and renovation of the former former Battey Machinery Building in downtown Rome. The property now houses a Hawthorne Suites hotel, retail shops, and a new restaurant, the Waterfront Bar and Grill.
